Leaked Draft Opinion in Dobbs Case Suggests Roe v. Wade Could Be Overturned

Washington, DC -- According to the news outlet, POLITICO, a draft of the opinion in the Supreme Court's decision in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization has been leaked. The draft opinion, written by Justice Samuel Alito, a conservative, would overturn the terrible Roe v. Wade decision and allow states to completely protect unborn babies from abortion beginning at conception.

Even if the February draft is legitimate, it is not the final word. A decision by the Court is expected in late June.

If the Court does overturn Roe, a law passed by the Texas Legislature and signed by Gov. Greg Abbott in 2021 to protect unborn babies would go into effect a few weeks later. That law, HB 1280 by Rep. Giovanni Capriglione (R-Southlake) and Senator Angela Paxton (R-McKinney), is known as the Human Life Protection Act.
