A Christmas Message from Fr. Joe
December 25, 2015
“For a child is born to us, a son is given us: upon his shoulder dominion rests. They name him Wonder-Counselor, God-Hero, Father-Forever, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:5)
“For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord.” (Luke 2:11)
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
As we celebrate this blessed and holy Christmas season, let us first remember and rejoice that the newborn Savior Jesus Christ truly is Emmanuel, “God with us.” During this Christmas season, as we share in our beautiful liturgies, in good feelings, delicious meals and kind words with one another let us also acknowledge this truth in everything we say and do – Jesus is our refuge, our shepherd, our love – again, he is Emmanuel, God with us.
He lived among us so that we could enter into a most intimate relationship with Him. He became one with us so that we could become one with Him. And when He lives with us today we can live in Him and we are empowered to share God’s love with a desperately needing world.
My prayer for each of you is that you will be able to experience God’s love and presence in your life and in the life of your family, not only at Christmas, but throughout the coming year. And may this holy season find you abounding in love, rejoicing in hope, and secure in God's peace. May God's richest blessings continue with you through the coming year.
May all of you have a Blessed Christmas and a Holy New Year
Fr. Joe
