This Sunday is a special day. Not only is it Mother's Day, but it is a special liturgical day for the Byzantine Church. On Sunday, May 11th we celebrate the Sunday of the Paralytic, the Feast of the founders of our Church - Ss. Cyril & Methodius, and the founding of Constantinople! It is also our first Divine Liturgy at St. Mary's of the Assumption in Waco.
Location: St. Mary's Church
Address: 1401 Washington Ave, Waco, TX
Time: 3:00 Divine Liturgy, followed by Spring Festival
Served by: Fr. Elias and Fr. Dcn. Craig. Also concelebrated by St. Mary's pastor, Fr. Joe.
For our Roman Catholic friends
Divine Liturgy at 3:00 pm does count as your Sunday obligation, and you may attend Mass that morning and still come to Divine Liturgy and receive Holy Communion.
The Spring Festival (see poster below), celebrating mothers, our founders, and most importantly, the saving works of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, will take place immediately after the service.
After celebrating the gift of the mothers in our lives on Sunday morning, come and enjoy homemade pierogi, baklava, pulled pork, kielbasa, and mimosas on us! Bring your kids, as we will have games for all! We hope to see you on Sunday!
