During the entire Respect Life month of October, please notice there are three posters and interactive bulletin boards on easels, one at each entrance of the church. Please bring a small baby-related item to place on one of these boards. Examples are an ultrasound photo, a birth announcement, a pacifier, or anything to focus attention on Respect Life month and Walking With Moms in Need. There are notepads, push pins, and tape available for you to post a personalized message or prayer. There is literature on the adjoining tables on issues of pro-life, assistance for unplanned pregnancies and mothers in need, adoption, post-abortion healing, and prayer cards. Also, the diaper and formula drive continues for the entire month of October. Any size or brand of diapers is appreciated, although there is a particular need for newborns and small. Formula preferences are Similac 360 Total Care, Advanced and Sensitive, and Sam’s Members Mark. Donations will be distributed to the Gabriel Project, CareNet, and to moms in need in our own parish. Please participate in this important awareness initiative. Diapers and formula may be placed in the food collection box in the main entrance of the church, or they can be brought to the church office. Thank you for all donations received thus far at the halfway mark of the month. See a picture on the parish website showing a huge delivery to the Gabriel project of diapers, wipes, bottles, baby toiletries, toys, and a toy box.
Next weekend we will celebrate World Mission Sunday. Pope Francis invites the entire Church to pray and give generously in support of mission dioceses in Africa, Asia, the Pacific islands, and parts of Latin America and Europe. Your prayers and generous help in next week’s special collection for the Society for the Propagation of the Faith will support priests, and religious and lay leaders who serve the world’s most vulnerable communities. Thank you!
Please remember to put coins in your Baby Banks. If you have not picked up a Baby Bank, they are at all church entrances. They should be returned by the first weekend of November.
