This weekend is Catholic Charities Weekend in the Diocese of Austin. Catholic Charities of Central Texas works on behalf of Bishop Vásquez and the Catholic faithful as the social service arm of our diocese. This year, Catholic Charities of Central Texas celebrates its 25th Anniversary and continues its commitment to eliminating poverty in our communities. Catholic Charities offers seven distinct programs which provide wraparound services to families in need. Programs include Counseling Services, Disaster Response, Financial Stability, Immigration Legal Services, St. Gabriel’s Pregnancy and Parenting Program, St. Michael’s Veteran Services, and the newest program, Refugee Resettlement Services. Catholic Charities serves anyone in need, regardless of faith background. To learn more, including ways that you can get involved or receive help, visit ccctx.org. Protecting God’s Children (Call to Protect) will be from 9:15 to 10:15 for all CCE children on Sunday, August 27.
The September edition of The Word Among Us is at all church entrances; one per family, please.
First Friday Adoration will be from 8-5 in the Chapel on Friday, September 1.
First Saturday Adoration and Mass will be from 9-10:30 in the Chapel on Saturday, September 2.
Monday, September 4 is Labor Day. The Church Office and Gift Shop will be closed in observance of the holiday.
All sack lunch volunteers and those who would like to join this ministry will have a meeting on Wednesday, September 6 at noon in the Church Office.
Religious Education for Adults will be on Sunday, September 10 from 9:15-10:15 in the Annex Meeting Room. The topic will be the Eucharist. Contact the office to reserve your Study Guide. There is no cost to you.
