Recently, pamphlets were placed on the windshields of automobiles parked in our church parking lot. These pamphlets, entitled "The Fatima Crusader, " published by the National Committee for the National Pilgrim Virgin of Canada, under the direction of Fr. Nicholas Gruner, and distributed by the "Servants of Jesus and Mary" are NOT in accord with Catholic teaching. Fr. Gruner's priestly faculties have been suspended by his bishop. He is not in good standing as a priest in the Catholic Church. Furthermore, the message of "The Fatima Crusader" is NOT dogma. It is private revelation, not part of the deposit of faith and NEED NOT BE ACCEPTED as essential to the faith by Catholics. Please read the attached news article from Catholic Herald and note the controversy still being generated by the Fatimists. Fr. Joe.
