This group of approximately 14 ladies started in 1990. Over the past 27 years these ladies have made rosaries for college student centers such as Texas A&M (maroon and white) and Baylor (green and gold). They also make rosaries for hospitals, nursing homes, prisons and funeral homes. The majority of the rosaries they make are sent to the missions in Mexico, South America, Africa and India. In the last year the Rosary Circle has made and given away approximately 5,000 rosaries. To earn the money to make these rosaries the ladies also make rosaries and chaplets to sell. The rosaries are for sale in the church office and are very beautiful and vary in price. The group makes rosaries out of plastic beads and string, beads and wire, cord rosaries, nickel silver rosaries, sterling silver rosaries, single-decade rosaries and chaplets. They also repair rosaries to send to the missions.
The Rosary Makers' Circle meets every Tuesday morning at 9:00 am in the Assumption House Conference Room. During this time they also pray the rosary and share with each other. It is easy to learn how to make a rosary; the group will be glad to teach anyone wanting to learn.
